Have you ever noticed that ugly brown container located to the north of the School?
The PTSA and the Tulalip Bay Fire Department cleaned and sanitized
the inside of this container. This container is used to store blankets, food, water, rescue equipment,
and other necessary supplies for the students/staff/members of our community in the likely event
of an emergency. Your PTSA is sponsoring a water drive to stock the container with 1000 bottles
of water. You can help by sending a check for $5 or more made out to the Tulalip PTSA/Water with your child
to school. The classroom with the most $ raised will win a popcorn party. All donations will be used to buy cases of water which will
become the property of Marysville School District #25. We are hoping to get donations of freeze dried foods in the future.
A 5 gallon bucket containing 260 freeze-dried meals costs $99 at Costco.

Please go to
www.incredibleinternet.com and take the super
short online safety quiz? You'll need to click on
"online safety" and then "parents' safety-net test" to
get to it. Enter Tulalip Elementary when
it asks for a school name. When you're done
with the quiz, hit the button to download your "Qwest
Safe Surfer Certificate" and send it to the PTSA. When
the PTSA turns them into the school, we'll get credit for your participation!
This is part of a program that's sponsored by Qwest and the twenty schools in
Washington state that have the highest proportional
number of parents, guardians, family members, and loved
ones take the quiz, receive a $1,000 grant. We have a great
chance of being one of the recipients, especially if
everyone pitches in! Thank you for taking a
couple of minutes to do this for your kids!

Your PTSA is offering a challenge to our 4th graders.
All 4th Grade students that arrive on time every test day, takes the WASL, and
attend 3 of 5 after school tutoring sessions will be rewarded with a
Field trip to Kayak Point County Park including a
Subway lunch in June. We believe this reward will provide the incentive
to help our students learn what is required of them and improve our
school by meeting the standards set forth by the State. Tutoring is
available after school in D-5 until 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday (4:30-5:00 at the club).
Math Milkshake Night and Literacy Night count toward the 3 tutoring session
requirement. Applications will be sent home this week.
The application
is also available for download.
